Another busy weekend. This weather has left me with an extreme longing for summer.
I'll try to explain the pictures in the order of the events. First is Jim at the beef and noodle supper. That's one of his favorite poses, acting strong. He puts in a lot of hours and is plenty tired when it is over. We served a little over 400 people.

Sunday we went to Payton's soccer game (he's the one on the right). Finley is pictured with Grandpa.

A few posts back I commented that once the field work started I wouldn't see either of the boys for a long time. The way I see them is if I go to the field to find them. Mike is delivering David fuel and then I rode with David in the CAT for an hour or so. It's a good way to catch up.

Last Sunday was Caleb's baptism. It turned out to be a beautiful day. The weather was gorgeous day. Caleb was virtually perfect during the baptism. He loves music and when the singing started he just watched. The one soloist said he had never had such a good audience from a baby. After the service many family and friends stayed for a first hamburger fry and potato salad of the season.

Next weekend brings the beef and noodle supper. Jim cooks 95 pounds of angus beef for that. Our feet are always tired after that long day.

Some of you have heard my April Fool's Day story, so if you have you can stop reading now.

Over spring break I had to go to the dentist to have an impression made for a crown. I would have a temporary crown for two weeks. If it pops off, just call and we'll put it back on. Otherwise see you in two weeks (April 1). One of the last things I said to the dentist was "I hate that impressions goop".

So on Thursday April 1 I showed up at the dentist office. The first thing the technician says is, "this isn't an April Fool's Joke, but we can't find your crown". My first thought is, "then why didn't you call me" "because we have to make another impression". Ya right. I was sure this was a joke. She keeps telling me how they've looked everywhere, called the lab and the delivery people and they don't have a record of checking it in and can't find it. She continues, "look, I've laid out the stuff to make the impression." Ya, I'm thinking you have to do that in order to try and convince me we have to do this again. The dentist now enters the room. He continues the monologue of we really can't find it, we're not kidding. Sure whatever you say. I'm going to lay in this chair and wait for you to end this charade. I sit down, lean back, he pops the temporary crown off and then says, "Jean if I had the crown, this is when I would show it to you." HE DIDN'T HAVE IT! So we did the impression again, this time promising not to overfill the tray so the goop won't ooze out everywhere in my mouth.

The punch line to this story, the next morning, they call to say they found it and when do I want to come back in? I doubt I'm getting any discount for this.

Happy Easter !

Another fabulous weekend is quickly gone. Saturday I spent cleaning house and cooking food for Sunday. Saturday night we had a fun evening with many other friends just kicking back.

Sunday, of course, was an up early day for Sunrise Service. That's the only part about Easter I don't like. At least at Christmas you have Christmas Eve, late afternoon. But Easter, you have to get up early. I like sleeping in on my weekends.

For dinner we had Mom and Dad, my sister Carolyn and niece Lauree and David and Alicia. After dinner we watched old, old slides of my parents from 1959-1962 or so. We spent several hours looking at those and didn't get through all of them before everyone had to head home.

At not quite six months of age, Caleb wasn't into Easter. He just wanted to suck on the ears of the bunny attached to his Easter basket.

I'm glad it didn't rain Sunday, because hopefully that means it won't rain for the next seven Sundays.
