June 20-23, 2011

June 19 Jim and I headed north to Spencer, Iowa for the 15th annual WHO tractor ride. Good thing I was along. About 1 mile south of Kamrar on a busy I-35 a tire on the trailer blew out. It took us about 1 hour to change it. It was another rainy ride for Jim. While he rode I stayed in the motel room and either, slept, watched tv, worked on school stuff for next year or went shopping. On Wednesday I picked Leah and Caleb at her parents, who live about 30 minutes from Spencer. Upon arriving home we discovered about a foot of water in the basement. The summp pump motor failed. It seems this happens every summer. Some how the sump pump always knows when we're gone. This time we decided to just take the carpet out and pitch it. Mike, David and Alicia came and helped. Thanks a million. Many hands do make not only lighter work but also getting it done in a timely fashion. Leah and Caleb also came but she had her hands full keeping Caleb out of trouble with some much stuff to get into.
